Evita
By Andrew Lloyd Webber
Directed by Bradley Donaldson

Evita, by Andrew Lloyd Webber was performed at the Lakeville Area Arts Center in Lakeville, March 16 through April 1 - Chameleon's 54th production!

Evita follows the life of Eva Duarte de Peron as she ascends the ranks of power to lead a country with General Juan Peron. Her drive, charisma, passion and burning need changed the perception of the descamisados and elevated her to an iconic status. However, the people’s devotion can change as perceptions change, as dissident feelings arise. Che Guevara, a dissident by nature, questions Eva about her true desires and her husband’s tactics. Power carries a price. Does might make right? How much does image govern a leader? Who holds power over whom? What is the cost of power and is that price too high? What choice would you make?
